| Organisation
of Classes
In 2009/2010 we will have nine classes at North Kidlington School.
These are arranged into three departments – Foundation Stage
and Infants, Lower Juniors and Upper Juniors. Within these departments,
teachers plan together to ensure that children receive a balanced
curriculum with progression and continuity through the school.
Foundation Stage
In Foundation Stage we have 45 children aged four to five years.
Key Stage 1 (Infants)
This refers to children from their entry into Year 1 at five years
of age until the end of the academic year in which they are seven
years old. We have three classes. At the end of Year 2, children
take their first statutory assessment, the Key Stage 1 SATs.
Key Stage 2 (Juniors)
In our junior department we have five classes. At the end of Year
6, children take their Key Stage 2 SATs.
